The University of Pennsylvania's new Bolton Center premiered EQUIMAGINE, the first-ever robot-powered imaging system for use with standing and moving horses. This new technology, created in collaboration with Four Dimensional Digital Imaging (4DDI), requires neither anesthesia nor narrow tubes, and results in high-definition rendering that provide detailed views of horse anatomy impossible to capture using previous modalities. Penn Vet is the first veterinary teaching hospital in the world to employ this system. With the potential to aid in early diagnosis and injury prevention, the translational applications to human health are galloping ahead.
